Macon Preemies Welcomes You
It may be lonely, but you are not on this journey alone
About Us
Macon Preemies is a local non-profit organization that supports the families of babies in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). The NICU journey, no matter the time period, can be a lot for families to handle. Macon Preemies main focus is to create positive moments along the way. We will create those moments by creating care packages for those families while they are on their journey!

Join our Macon Preemies Facebook group! In the group, you will find other parents of current NICU warriors and NICU graduates. The unique thing about our group is that we are only made up of families that have experience at our local NICU.

It's important to know that you are not alone in this journey, even when you feel alone. There is a mommy or daddy out there who has felt what you feel. There is a community for you.

Where Macon Preemies Began....

Hi everyone! My name is Chiquella Taylor and Macon Preemies was the positive star along my journey...well, my second journey. That's right! 2 NICU Journeys!

On May 12, 2021, I gave birth to my first child, Conner Javarius Boyd. He came at 26+6 weeks and weighed in at 2 pounds, 1 ounce. Conner's NICU journey lasted 88 days. He graduated on August 7, 2021. He came home with his feeding tube and baby monitor.

I found out that I was expecting baby #2 in October 2022! Addison Michelle Boyd was born on March 10, 2022 at 23+2 weeks. She weighed in at 1 pound 1 ounce. Her NICU journey was 154 days and she came home with a G-Button for feeding and on a baby monitor.

Going through this the first time showed me how much having support helped me get through the journey. This second go around, I couldn't believe that this was happening again. But my mindset was so much stronger. Macon Preemies was created to provide some of that strength to other mommy's and daddy's during their NICU journey. Every journey is different, but every journey can use splashes of positivity.
